Foldable wash basins are space-saving household products, commonly used in camping, travel, and small apartments. The basin body requires rigidity to hold water, while the folding section needs flexibility for repeated folding. Two-color molding using PP for the rigid frame and TPE for the flexible sealing edge achieves both functions in a single part.

Our company manufactures custom injection molds for these basins. The mold is designed for sequential injection of two materials. The cavity and core are made of P20 or 718H steel, with design using UG, CAD, and Moldflow. Molds are tested on 200T–1,000T injection machines. P20 provides approximately 200,000 cycles and 718H provides approximately 400,000 cycles.
