Air filters are essential engine components that clean incoming air to protect the engine from dust and debris. The housing encloses the filter element and connects to the air intake system, requiring precise internal dimensions to ensure a tight seal and proper airflow.
Our company manufactures custom injection molds for these housings. Side holes and recesses are formed by inclined slide mechanisms with angles of 10° to 25°, which retract before ejection to allow smooth part release. The cavity and core are made of P20 or 718H steel, with design using UG, CAD, and Moldflow. Molds are tested on 200T–1,000T injection machines. P20 provides approximately 200,000 cycles and 718H provides approximately 400,000 cycles.
